Out of an abundance of caution, James Monroe High School and the Peterstown complex were placed on a modified lockdown today as a precautionary safety measure. All schools are now operating on regular schedule. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, staff, families, and community as we continue to prioritize a safe learning environment for all. Thank you for your continued support of our schools.

JMHS Parade- has been cancelled due to the fire department and deputies being pulled to help at Maverick Estates.

Reminder: Parents of James Monroe High School Junior students, the Junior Academy will be on September 23rd from 6-8 PM. Representatives from New River will be discussing financial aid, scholarships, and other important information. Refreshments will be available for all who attend!

Attention Seniors: CPR education is a requirement for graduation and here is an opportunity to become CPR certified at no cost. This is a certification that you can take with you into the workforce and/or your continuing education journey. This certification is valid for two years from the date certified. You will need to register using the attached directions and begin working on this during advisory. The deadline to complete the online portion is Friday March 27, 2026. After all seniors have completed the class, there will be a skills observation date setup so that seniors can perform their hands on evaluation to complete the certification process.
